St John Plessington Catholic College

St John Plessington is the Lead Organisation and was judged to be outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in May 2013. Ofsted commended the College for being “outward looking, keen to support improvement in other schools and share good practice…The College is seen as a beacon of good practice.” It is a National Teaching School and National Support School, Leading Edge Partner and an SSAT Consultant Accredited. In 2010-11 it was the TES Secondary School of the Year. The Head Teacher, as a NLE has been responsible for significantly improving schools that have been in Ofsted ‘categories’. The school is a large comprehensive school that caters for boys and girls of all abilities.

Upton Hall School FCJ

Upton Hall School FCJ is a Roman Catholic Grammar School for girls aged 11-18, situated in the Diocese of Shrewsbury under the Trusteeship of the Society of the Faithful Companions of Jesus, FCJ. The school has academy status. Upton was judged by Ofsted to be an outstanding school. The school has three specialisms: Technology College, Language College and Training School. It also works with the Prince’s Teaching Institute to promote excellence. 

All Hallows' Catholic College

All Hallows' Catholic College is a co-educational 11-18 voluntary academy in the Diocese of Shrewsbury. The college is recognised as outstanding by Ofsted and said to be 'characterised by a palpable ethos that combines gospel values, ethical enterprise and aspiration for all students to be the best that they can in all dimensions of their lives.' Leadership is described 'dynamic,  innovative and outward facing'. The college is a DfE National Support School with the Principal designated as a National Leader of Education. All Hallows is also one of three SSAT National Champion Training Schools for the Teacher Effectiveness Enhancement Programme. The college has a built up a large cadre of Specialist Leaders of Education, TEEP trainers and Lead Practitioners. All Hallows is proud of its inclusive identity as an all-ability Catholic college welcoming students from a wide variety of backgrounds.

St Ambrose Barlow Teaching School

St Ambrose Barlow is a designated Teaching School, a National School of Creativity and a Specialist Technology and Applied Learning College . In judging the school Ofsted commented, “The excitement and buzz for learning is immediately apparent to any visitor to this outstanding school.” The Head Teacher is a NLE and has a proven track record of outstanding leadership.

Our Lady of Pity Primary School

Our Lady of Pity Primary School is a large innovative and outstanding primary school  with National Teaching School Status which is led and managed by an inspirational head teacher. The school was shortlisted for TES Primary School of the Year 2012. The Head Teacher is a NLE after having a proven and successful track record of supporting other schools. The school is one of the highest performing primary schools in the area.

University of Chester

The University of Chester traces its roots back to one of the earliest training colleges in the country, beginning the training of teachers and leaders in 1839. While it is one of the oldest higher education institutions in the UK, it is also a modern, innovative institution and has a well-deserved reputation for the quality of its education. The Faculty was recently awarded 'Outstanding' status by Ofsted.
